Dragon’s Gate Bonus Choice includes all the attractive Pragmatic Play features but with interesting differences. The three bonus modifiers are represented by different coloured fish racing up the waterfall in a picture perfect Oriental garden. The fish that wins will decide the modifier awarded and therefore you are engaged by events outside the reels as well. The modifiers sweeten the bonus features by increasing their payout potential but you cannot choose which one you want.
The Bonus Choice allows you to pick from a free games feature or a respins feature. Both are structured in a manner that maintains the same return so mathematically there is nothing to be gained. However, slot players lay a lot of emphasis on gut feeling and you should be guided by your sixth sense. Play the game in the demo mode and try out both options a number of times. This should help when you switch to real money play.
Paylines and Paytable Explained
To arrive at the total bet, you select the number of coins and the coin value. The product of your selections is multiplied 20x to give the total bet, which ranges from $0.20 to $240. Both low rollers and high rollers will be contended with this range.
How to read the paylines?
Dragon’s Gate Bonus Choice has the standard 5 reels and 3 rows, but with 50 fixed paylines. Therefore, winning combinations will occur more frequently.
How to read the paytable?
The paytable displays the amounts won for landing three, four, and five matching symbols on paylines starting from the left. The amounts also depend on the selected bet. You will see that the amounts change proportionately as you change the bet. We show the paytable for the maximum bet of $240.
We have calculated the payout multipliers and are displaying them below. Expert players use them to compare the payout potential of different slot games.

Bonus Features in Dragon’s Gate Bonus Choice
The process leading to the triggering of the bonus feature is as exciting as the bonus itself. The three coloured fish, red, yellow, and blue, are bonus symbols. Adjacent to the reels are three waterfalls of matching colours. The bonus fish collected on the reels push their corresponding-coloured fish up the water fall. The fish that reaches the top first awards its multipliers. In each case you can choose between free games and respins.

Free Games
When you choose the Free Games the money values in the bonus coins are first awarded. You then get 5 free games, with a specific modifier.
The red fish awards the Balance modifier. The free games are played simultaneously on two grids of 5×3.
The yellow fish awards the Prosperity modifier. Random frames appear on the reels and all symbols within the frames will be turned into wild symbols.
The blue fish awards the Vitality modifier. Up to 20 additional free games can be awarded if two or more blue fish land on the reels in any spin.
Respins
These are played on a grid in which there are only money symbols and blanks. The money symbols randomly hold values from 0.6x to 30x the bet. There is a Mini jackpot coin of 10x the bet, a Minor jackpot coin of 20x the bet, and a Major jackpot coin of 150x the bet.
You start with three respins. In each respin you are paid the value of the new money symbols that appear on the reels. Also, if new money symbols appear then the balance number of respins is reset to three. The feature ends when all respins are used or all spaces on the grid are filled with money coins. When the latter event happens, you are also awarded the Grand jackpot of 5000x the bet.
Modifiers also enhance the Respins feature.
The red fish awards the Balance modifier. The respins are played simultaneously on two grids of 5×3.
The yellow fish awards the Prosperity modifier. The values on the money symbols are increased.
The blue fish awards the Vitality modifier. The game starts with four respins and is reset each time to four respins
Bonus Buy Feature
You will have to pay 50x the total bet to buy the bonus feature. You can choose from the Free Games and the Respins, but the Prosperity modifier will be activated by default.
Gameplay Overview
Dragon’s Gate Bonus Choice is a high payout slot game and in this section we will explain why.
Maximum Wins
The limit on the maximum payout is 10,000x the bet. This is more than normally provided for in online slots and at maximum bet amounts to $2,400,000. One important aspect is that if you hit this limit within a bonus feature, then the game will immediately end.
Volatility
Pragmatic Play indicates that the volatility of Dragon’s Gate Bonus Choice is 4 out of 5. Though this still falls under high volatility, it does offer some relief to conservative players.
Return to Player (RTP)
The RTP is 96.5%, whether you play normally or buy the bonus feature. This return is about the best that you will get. Players that have the bankroll to invest in the Bonus Buy feature need not worry about sacrificing any return.
Audio and Visual Design
The graphics design of Dragon’s Gate Bonus Choice stands out. The background serene Oriental garden with the lake, waterfalls and temple is exquisite. The fish climbing up the waterfall are beautiful to behold and also engaging from the gaming perspective. The fearsome dragon appears in all its glory while announcing mega wins.
The symbols could have been crafted more ornately. However, they fit into the Japanese theme. In the free games feature, the flaming frames of dragon wild symbols create an awesome spectacle, especially when they appear in a 3×3 matrix. Keep the slot game’s audio enabled for some soothing music as you play.

Pros & Cons
- Bonus Buy feature
- 96.5% RTP
- Fixed jackpot awards
- No ante bets
- No progressive jackpots
Here are some tips to help you enjoy the slot game better. The maximum bet allowed is $240, but that is way too high for responsible gambling. Even if you are a high roller player, we suggest you play with not more than $100 a spin. The Bonus Buy restricts the modifier options to only one. It is not difficult to trigger the bonuses naturally so do give it a try and play with other modifiers as well.
